Here are 10 dog breeds perfect for a cold climate.

If you live in the north pole, or somewhere in the mountains and you want to get a dog, then this post will definitely help you. In here we have decided to share with you the best dog breeds for cold climates. You should already know that a chihuahua, or a Pug will not feel cool with the ridiculously cold temperatures, so here is what you should consider. First thing I want to clarify is that there are many more dog breeds that can totally survive in the cold, all we are trying to say is that these 10 breeds are the smartest choice when it comes to freezing temperatures, tons of snow, and super long winters. Let us know if you have any other suggestions.

1- Alaskan Malamute:

There was no way this dog could be out of the list. I guess we all know that Alaskan Malamute is a sled dog which means that cold weather is not an issue for this breed.

#2- American Eskimo. The thick double coat protects this breed during the cold temperatures. You should only be careful not to loose your pooch if there is snow around because then you will not be able to find them.
#3- Bernese Mountain Dog: They have a thick coat that keeps them warm in the cold. They are lovable, and always ready for new adventures.

#4- Estrela Mountain Dog: This dog originates from the mountains of Portugal. That means that he was created to get along with harsh climates.

#5- Keeshond: This is a Northern breed, and I am guessing you can all assume that he has a really thick coat that keeps him warm through it all.

#6- Newfoundland: This dog has a thick coat that protects it from icy waters, freezing temperatures, and harsh climates.

#7- Samoyed: This dog breed has developed in Siberia which means it has all it takes to survive in harsh climates.

#8- Siberian Husky: Just like Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Huskies are sled dogs, and nothing could make them happier than running around in the snow.

#9- St. Bernard: Once upon a time this dog was used to locate lost people in the Swiss Alps.

#10- Swedish Lapphund:
