10 Top Tips On Training Puppies

For sure, puppies are the cutest thing ever but they also can be messy when they are not properly trained.
Here are some tips to have a sweet and well trained puppy at the same time.

#1 Associate a positive word, to an action or behavior that your pup is displaying and make sure to reward him afterwords. This might be when he is sitting, lying down or getting on his bed.

#2 Puppies have a lot of energy which needs to be burned, so get them outside playing, teaching them new skills etc.

#3 Give your puppy treats when he is being handled by other people such as the vet, when being groomed or even if a child approaches to rub his back. There is no better thing than when a puppy is well behaved and friendly while being handled.

#4 When traveling always put your puppy in harness, a den or behind a dog car guard.

#5 Teach him to follow routines such as waiting at gates, doors and sitting for the lead to be put on.

#6 To help the relationship between children and the pup teach him to wait for your eye contact before they are released to have their food.

#7 Toilet train your puppy by forming him the habit by marking a certain area in the yard for him and send him there the first few days. It won’t be long for him to scent  that there is where his toilet is. He will learn even quicker if you reward him with his favorite treat for doing so.

#8 In order to keep him out of your kitchen, take a large cardboard, filled it with scrunched up newspaper and drop in treats, chews and toys.

#9 Always be consistent on the rules they have to follow inside the house otherwise they will get confused.

#10 Play as much as you can while your dog is still a puppy. This will help to build a great relationship with him.
