5 Crucial Things You Need To Teach Your Bright New Puppy

It is very important to train your new pup as soon as you bring him home. Along with the responsibility of taking care for another living being you have to educate him as well. Doing so very early on will make your life easier too, by having a well trained dog, you shape his personality and the way he acts.
If you are aiming for success on your pup training days than this are 5 important things you need to follow in order to achieve your goal.

#1 Basic Commands are the first thing he needs to learn. Learning him this will be the key to having an easier live. The magic words such as ‘Sit’, ‘Stay’ ‘Come’, ‘Leave It’ will help teach your dog how to be patient, attentive and obedient.

#2 Learning about their space in your home is crucial when it comes to educate him about boundaries. He needs to learn how to love his bed and not intrude by crushing on yours. If you are struggling to make him stay and sleep on his own bed than try rewarding him whenever he is on his bed or crate.

#3 To teaching them about boundaries in the first place you have to be specific on what those boundaries are. For example if is not allowed to sit on the couch than reward him with a treat after pushing him off of it. If he is chewing on your shoe, make him clear that that is wrong and forbidden and than approach him a toy to play with. And more importantly be consistent on these rules cause other wise you will just end up with a confused dog.

#4 Potty training is another must while you are educating your bright new dog. And the bet way to do just that is to deliberately walk to the spot when you realize they need to go and after they do so, reward them immediately. By doing so continuously will reinforce your dogs behavior. Eventually he will  start going potty right where you want him to.

#5 The last but not least is to teach your dog how to be alone in home. Some dogs tend to get agitated when they feel abandoned and start to howl. What you can do is try to leave them alone just for 5 minutes at first and see if they do not make any noise, give them a reward. Than the next time practice this for 10 min, 20 min, 1 hour and so on. Every time the behaves properly he gets a treat. This way, very soon he will be on his best behavior before you even notice.
