Is no surprise for us that most of the pets don’t like to take a bath. Although for us is the most relaxing thing we can have after a very long day at work, they just don’t feel the same.
Even if your cat or dog never comes to enjoy the time of his bath, the least we can do is try to make that experience as positive as possible for them by avoiding these 7 common mistakes.
#1 Make sure that the water temperature is good to go by testing it first on your forearm. If the water is to hot or to cold and you apply it directly on your pet it can create a negative stimulus for him.
#2 It may be easier for you to let the water run into his skin straight from the shower head, but doing so can frightened or even upset your pet. So the best solution is to let the water run into your hand first and from there you direct it into your pets body because it is more comforting for him too.
#3 Pets need to have their own shampoo that keeps their skin pH levels neutralized. Pets do not have the same pH levels as humans do, so if you use your own shampoo on them it can irritate or even cause them allergies.
#4 For those of you who decide to use soap instead of shampoo, you need to know that it can not remove all the dirt and oil accumulated on the skin by just letting it soak on you pets skin and then wash it away. You will have to massage the soap on your pets paws, legs and up to his face.
#5 Ideally speaking, brushing your pets fur up to three times a week would be perfect, that way you would brush him also before and after the bath to keep his fur groomed and soft. But if you do not do so than grooming they fur when there are knots and matts there can be very painful for your little friend.
#6 Make sure to have a towel in hand once you finish with their bath. Damp and squeeze your pets fur well so there want be dripping wet all over the house.
#7 Now the good news is that your pets does not need to be bathed frequently. They naturally clean and groom their self so once a month is more than enough.
