The Brasil Open tournament, launched a bit differently this year. A really special and amazing opening was planned not only for the spectators, but for everyone who would be watching the game. Four shelter dogs had been training for months in order to serve as “ball Boys” during the grand opening match with players Roberto Carballes Baena of Spain and Gastao Elias of Portugal. The pictures, and the video at the very end, will give an insight of what’s it like to have four shelter dogs as “ball boys” in a mega event!
The shelter dogs that trained for this event were Frida, Costela, Mel and Isabelle.
All four puppies were wearing orange ribbons, and as you all can imagine the pups got more attention than the players themselves and we are not surprised at all– just look at them!
The dogs Frida, Costela, Mel and Isabelle dutifully catched the balls each time they had to. We all can understand that sometimes the balls were intentionally missed for obvious reasons.
These dogs were highly trained, and they knew clearly what were they supposed to do. Once they saw a ball flying away, the ran after it.
“These are dogs that were mistreated,” said their coach Andrea Beckert from the Association of Animal Wellbeing. “We want to show that abandoned dogs can be adopted and trained,” Beckert added. “After all, it’s not easy to get a dog to only pick up the lost balls, and then to give them up!”
DOGS WILL BEHAVE THE WAY THEY HAVE BEEN RAISED AND TREATED. I want you to never ever forget that because that is the ultimate truth. There are no bad dogs. There are only well-treated, and bad-treated dogs. And that is the message Andrea Beckert is trying to send to the world.
And if you think the same as she does, than do not hesitate to share this video with all your friends and relatives. We all should learn how to appreciate dogs. Enjoy the video!
