When you hear about this kind of stories your heart melts. It is amazing how this dog that has spent the majority of her adult life in the shelter waiting for her day to come, still manages to put on a smile everyday and hope for the best.
The staff of the shelter takes really good care of her. She really gets treated as if she was their family member. They get to go on long walks and even trips together.
If we could say only one think about her would be about her optimism. Every single day she wakes up hoping that she will be adopted and finally move into her forever home. The dog has been living in the shelter since she was three years old, since her former owner passed away.
Since that day, none of the shelters staff thought that she would spend five whole years living at the animal shelter.
Now that the years have passed by and she has become what we call a senior dog, her chances of getting adopted are even more slimmer.
There have been several interested parts to adopt the dog throughout the years, but as soon as they find out that she has to be the only dog in the house.
The issue with this forgotten dog, is that she does not tolerate the company of other dogs very well because she is a reactive dog. The staff has been working on her though. She has training once a week and has started to be more comfortable around other dogs.
