A couple of month ago, a Dachshund named Vincent was going through a very difficult time in his life. First his mommy dies and he finds himself all alone in the middle of nowhere. Luckily someone drops him off at a shelter one day because otherwise he would not be able to survive in the streets. When he was dropped at the shelter, the rescuers got completely shocked to see him. The poor puppy was overweight, and when the staff weighted him, he was 38 pounds. For a dog like Vincent the perfect weight would be half of what he was, and getting into that was not going to be easy.
This is how Vincent looked when he first got at the shelter. You can see that his belly is super big, and his limbs look super small.
The shelter decided to ask for help. They wanted to know if anyone would be able to foster the poor dog for a little while, and also help him to get back in shape. Fortunately someone stepped in and got the dog.
Her name is Melissa and she is a dachshund rescuer. She was committed into getting this little boy back into shape because all the extra eight posed a real threat on his health.
After doing a detox for a week to clean his body, Mellissa bough special four dof Vincent. She took him for really long walks on the daily basis, and also let Vincent play with other Dachshunds. Little by little she started seeing results.
With a lot of dedication, good intentions, and extra care, Vincent was able to drop 16.3 pounds in just a few months. He has started a brand new happy-healthy life that he likes, and looks like he has no intentions to walk away from it. Congratulations buddy!!!
