If the family would have surrendered them to a shelter because maybe there can not provide for them anymore, I would understand their decision. Although surrendering your dog is hard sometimes people have no other choice and do it thinking about their pets well being.
But no, this family choose to do a cruel thing instead. They sold them both at a meat farm since they were no longer wanted by the family. This took place in South Korea where the meat trade is legal and the dogs where shipped to a meat farm where they were held in terrible conditions.
Dogs in meat farm are treated badly. They are kept locked up in metal cages and as food goes they give them just enough to get by.
Apparently the two pooches were lucky because although the meat trade is legal the property owner had no documentation what so ever to prove that the land was his. For that reason all the 35 dogs that were held there were released immediately.
The two sold pooches along with 29 other canines that were liberated from the farm were flown to America in an animal shelter.
Every single one of them went throw the vets examination and they also were given baths.
Despite everything the pups are very sweet and affectionate. We hope they will be adopted very soon by a lovely family.
Unfortunately up to 3 million dogs are slaughtered in South Korea every year. Although there are organizations there that are working on closing them down.
