Seems like the ignorance, and the cruelty of people all around the world knows no boundaries. Another story of a dog buried alive has been published recently. This time the story happened in Cape-town, South Africa.
The story started during a school day. Outside the school, a homeless dog was barking all day long. Since the principal of the school was disturbed he asked the janitors to remove her. What the principal thought that the best solution was, was to bury the dog alive, not to remove her to another location.
As soon as the kitchen staff found out what was happening, they immediately called the International Fund for Animal Welfare’s Mdzananda Animal Clinic for help. As soon as the rescuers came, they went to unbury the poor dog. They came just in time to save the poor dog that was hardly breathing. He was buried in a 5feet pit.
Poor dog, whom they named Lilly, had to go through a lot of therapies, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, messages just to get her bones, and muscles relaxed. Lilly apparently had many physical problems because she was way too skinny.
Thanks the intense care, gradually Lilly started recovering. She was eating, sleeping, and interacting with other dogs at the shelter. She started looking happier, and was getting along with everyone perfectly.
Luckily Lilly was able to find a forever home. The woman who adopted her was an Animal Clinic board member. She provided Lilly with a roof over her head, food on her table, but most importantly endless love. That is what Lilly needs most. She needs a lot of love and affection.
Even though Lilly has a well planed life ahead of her, the people who almost killed her did not get punished. The janitors were pressed and charged with animal cruelty, but the principal has not done anything yet. He should introduce an animal awareness program at his school. Because he didn’t accept to do it he was arrested and went in jail. He should complete the program otherwise he will have a tarnished record for the rest of his life.
