This family adopted a 4 year old greyhound dog when he was rescued from the dog racing industry. The poor thing was so used to his own space and being on the track all the time, that he had a hard time adjusting and accepting the adoptive families love.
Since they have never been treated with kindness they are afraid of affection so they pull away anyone who tries to get close. And it is understandable the unknown can be very scary, although this is not the case.
After years struggling to make their greyhound feel safe and at home this happened. The wife got pregnant and strangely their distant pup started to be more opened and attached to her, especially when the bump started to show. He understood what was happening, and oh boy, when finally the day came for him to introduce himself with the baby, it was magical. He has nothing but love for the newest addition of the family. Now the family is whole.
