The puppy I am going to tell you about, is named Jake. The little puppy suffered a really unfortunate event in the past, but as I said that is all in the past. He has now moved on, and he has become a really successful firefighter. What he had to go through to be in the place he is right now was not that easy, and I want to share his experience with all you guys. This way you all understand that no matter what life throws at us, we have to keep our head up and keep going. Life is too short to complain. No Pain No Gain right?? The following pictures will describe the whole phases through which Jake had to go through since the unfortunate fire…
Little tiny Jack was a few weeks old when he got trapped in a burning shed. The poor little thing suffered burns in 75% of his body.
Since its owners could not cover all the vet expenses, they decided to abandon Jack instead.
William Lindler, the firefighter who save Jack, called the vet to check on Jack, and that is when he found out what happened to him:
“I contacted the vet and the vet informed me that…the family had abandoned him at the office”
“That’s when me and my family decided we would adopt him”
Once Lindler adopted Jack, he decided to keep him at the Hanahan Fire Department. The love and support Jack got from the department, helped him recover quickly.
The recovery was not easy, nor did it happen overnight, but Jack was surrounded by love, and people who deeply cared about his well-being.
Everyone at the Department loved having Jack around, and I think that the feeling was mutual.
After recovering, Jack became an official member of the Fire Department.
He is now trained to go to school and teach kids about fire safety.
I know this is unbelievable, but Jack has its own badge now.
“I would honestly like to get him certified to be a therapy dog for burned children,” said Lindler.
