As heartbreaking as it is to see people and animals leave in extreme poverty, unfortunately this is the ugly truth. Even in this days there are still people that fight to pass through another day. They don’t have a roof on their head, and for that they are obliged to spend the night whenever they think no one will bother them. And what better place than the cemeteries.
Among with the homeless people there are around 150 dogs living with them there. They are even in worse shape, malnourished and most of them sick too with sarcoptic mange.
The animals organization aims to provide food, spay, neuter and exercise these dogs in need.
The majority of the families that leave in the cemeteries have found comfort in these dogs and consider them as they pets. But the issue is that they are not educated enough on being a responsible dog owner.
It is important for the organization to teach the families how to take care properly for a dog. It is not just saving animals life. These individuals have a loose concept on what is a dog owner. They might even consider them selves owners of a dog just because they feed him once in a while and he leaves around their territory.
Exactly for that reason, it is very important to teach and educate these community on how to be responsible for a dogs life. And what better start than with the kids. They are the future of these community and hopefully a brighter one. They are very eager to learn. And once they learn something new it is easy to influence their parents as well.
I can happily say, so far so good. The program has given results. Now they give the dog water for example, kids walk with the dogs and they even wash the dogs that suffer from fleas with products that the organization provides.
A new idea is to give each kid a coloring book that teaches them how to take proper care for a pet.
