When Alan James a farmer from Uk found out that a farm in Cockermouth was looking for a sheepdog that could round sheep and follow a quad bike, he thought that Pero, one of his dogs was ideal for the job.
“We have a lot of dogs and a friend knew the farmer in Cockermouth was looking for a dog that could round sheep and follow a quad bike,” Alan’s wife Shan James told the Daily Mail. “We thought Pero would be ideal for the job.
But only a few days later after being relocated to the new farm, Pero the dog went missing. The new caretakers of the dog had no idea what happened to Pero. Only if they knew what the dog was up to…
Exactly twelve days after the dog went missing, on April 20th, Pero appears in Alan’s doorstep. The man was shocked when he saw his sheepdog standing there in front of him. The dog walks 12 days to get back to his home. To be precise he walked 240 miles.
“Last Wednesday evening my husband Alan went out to check on the animals after supper and there was Pero on our doorstep. It was a bit of a shock, and the dog was going crazy after seeing Alan.”
“When [Pero] came back, he wasn’t hungry or weak, so he must have managed to find food somewhere…we are very happy to have him home with us on the farm.”
