This wolf dog was found a a worker of animal rescue team living in a college dorm, locked inside a cage. The student owns him, repeatedly claims that he purchased him on Craigslist. His claim is really suspicious because it is not normal at all to advertise any kind of animal on Craigslist.
The boy had no strong information for the rescuers and was just eluding them. But the big problem was that this kind of dog is more similar to a wolf than a dog.
He was weighing only 42 pounds when normally they have to weigh at least 90 pounds. So the dog was considered to be on a ‘starving’ mode.
The rescue team did report the abuse that was being made with this wolf dog, but it took months for them to finally take him in their care. At the beginning one of the directors of the rescue team took him home with her in order to take care of him personally. And he bonded very quickly with her and the other two rescue dogs.
After helping him regaining his health and weight back on she started working on finding him appropriate home with the space and attention a wolf dog requires.
Actually owing a wolf dog as pet is not easy at all, and that is why they and up abandoned usually after the age of two. This happens because as wolves are not dogs, also wolf dogs are not dogs either.
This happened also with the wolf dog on this story. The family that decided to adopt him brought him back after only 12 hours saying that is wasn’t a perfect fit.
Lucky after this episode came another family who happened to be perfect for him. They owned another large dog that was 6 years old, and before deciding to take him they spent the whole day playing and getting to know him first.
And they bonded right way. Now the both of them live together free in a large property were they can run around and play with other animals as well.
