She went missing for five weeks, and they thought she was dead. But this is what actually happend

A dog named Luna was reported missing in South Carolina a couple of weeks ago, on Feb 10th. The dog was on a fishing boat with her owners, and just like that she was gone to never come back. Her owners were shocked because they lost sight of her for one second, and next thing they know the dog was gone. Right after its disappearance, the Navy searched San Clemente Island, located about 2 miles from where Luna went missing. Unfortunately they found nothing, so they presumed she was dead.

Here is Luna. The 18 month-old, blue eyed dog that went missing on Feb 10th. One day she was discovered wagging her tail by Navy personnel near a base on the island.

They were shocked,” DeMunnik told BuzzFeed News. “There are no domestic animals on the island because of the very sensitive environmental programs that take place there.”

“Luna ran right up to the staff,” DeMunnik added.

After finding her, The Navy believed that she had paddled all the way to the island, and then she survived by hunting mince. They checked her health, and besides being a little undernourished, she is in really good spirits.

Right after they found her, Luna was flown to a Navy base in San Diego where she was reunited with her owner’s friend. His parents were out of town so they could not pick her up. Luckily they reunited the next day.
