Lionel Messi scored one of his greatest ever long-range goals on Saturday afternoon.
The Argentina international has netted some absolute corkers down the years, but few – if any – top his effort for Paris Saint-Germain against Troyes.
With his PSG side trailing 2-1 on home soil, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner opted to take aim from all of 30 yards out.
And the howitzer from Messi’s left peg – a description which is anything but hyperbole – travelled at a speed close to that of a tracer bullet and nearly burst the back of the Troyes net.
It was the latest moment of magic from the 35-year-old, who’s certainly been back to his supreme best in 2022/23 with both PSG and Argentina.
Check out the incredible long-range goal from possibly the best to have ever played the sport of football…

Stop that, Leo!
The guy is playing football from a different planet right now – and it really is just glorious to watch every week.
Shortly after making it 2-2 on the day, Messi assisted his partner-in-crime Neymar to put PSG 3-2 up at the Parc des Princes.
It was yet another wonderful display of creativity from the Barcelona legend as well and at this point in time, we’ve almost ran out of superlatives with which to describe his genius.
Stunning, absolutely stunning.
Messi now has 12 goals and 13 assists across all competitions in 2022/23, which is an insane return given we’re only in October.
