#2 Play doctors with your dog at home. When a vet examines a dog they use bright lights, several equipment and personal contact. If you try this things in a playfully way with your puppy it will be less terrifying for him when the day comes.
#3 Reinforce basic commands. Some dogs start to behave very strange once they step foot at the clinic. This is a reaction due to fear. So if you try to distract them with commands while being examined it might help reduce the stress and fear.
