The secret behind being the best footballer in the world
The shape of Lionel Messi’s knees are the talk of the internet only days after the Argentine won the Ballon d’Or.
Messi collected the coveted prize for the eighth time in his career on Monday night but it’s not his heroics on the pitch that are all the rage.
Before joining David Beckham’s Inter Miami, Messi was on holiday with wife Antonela Roccuzzo and his three children in the Caribbean.
During his time away, the World Cup winner posted a series of holiday highlights to Instagram but rather than talking about the scenic views it was actually the shape of his knees that drew attention.
Fans noticed that the 36-year-old had two noticeable lumps on his knees but this isn’t because of anything abnormal.
According to Catalan outlet RAC1, the lumps are as a result of his inner quadriceps being more developed due to the work he put in.
Upon collecting the Ballon d’Or on Monday night, Messi said: “It’s nice to be here once more to enjoy this moment.
“To be able to win the World Cup and achieve my dream.
“I couldn’t imagine having the career I’ve had and everything I’ve achieved, the fortune I’ve had to be part of the best team in history.
“All of them [Ballon d’Or awards] are special for different reasons.”
