#4- Do not train a German Shepherd as if it were human. You need to learn canine instincts and treat the dog accordingly. These dogs are one of the smartest and most trainable breeds; they just need to have a task in life. They are so intelligent and learn so quickly that Shepherds are excellent as guide dogs for the disabled, awesome in search and rescue service and the military. They are excellent trackers, obedient, and highly agile. The Shepherd’s great nose can sniff out drugs and intruders and alert handlers to the presence of danger.
