Maybe we have seen other disney animal characters drawn as humans but these particular drawings are different. The artist had noticed that other samples lacked in character consistency. Due to this lack of character they appeared less lovable or even believable.
Since for the artist it was very important to keep the drawings as original as the characters she made her own. And I have to say her art is beautiful. Is like you are seeing the same disney animals transformed as humans.
