Exactly for this reason the 26 year old girl is trying to provide the message that petting a service dog it is a big NO. The sign on the vest is there for a particular reason. People have to understand that by doing that, she can get really hurt because the dog want be able to stay attentive while others are petting him. The only time somebody can approach the dog is when she is unconscious or is having a seizure.
In the past while other people where petting the dog, she was about to have a seizure when the dog got the chance to notify her. While normally he warns her about 10 minutes before, this time there was no time and she went into seizure immediately.
