David Beckham, Lionel Messi, and Sergio Busquets enjoy lavish dinner along with their wives

David Beckham and Lionel Messi, two of the biggest names in football, shared a lavish dinner with their wives and friends in Miami this week. Messi rejected a huge offer from Saudi Arabia to join Inter Miami, and one of his main reasons for joining was a better quality of life in Miami. It seems Messi is getting his family-friendly atmosphere, as he dined with his compatriots days after he made a splashing debut for the club.

According to The Mirror, Messi’s wife Antonela Roccuzzo and Messi joined Beckham and his wife Victoria. Along with his wife Elena Galera, Sergio Busquets, another high-profile player who joined Miami this summer after leaving Barcelona, was also there, and Beckham’s Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas and his wife Aleyda also attended. The Argentine family appeared to be settling in well in their new well in their new home city, as Messi wore a black Amiri shirt and Antonela wore a pink mini dress.

The dinner could be a celebration of Messi’s arrival at Inter Miami, where he debuted for the club in the Leagues Cup match against Cruz Azul and scored the winner in the dying seconds of the game. Beckham had been pursuing Messi for months and finally convinced him to join his club after offering him a lucrative contract until 2025.

Beckham has also revealed that he was in tears after a phone call with Messi, with the Argentine confirming he would be moving to Miami. Speaking to the Athletic, the ex-England captain said: “I never thought I would have the same feeling as an owner as I had when I was a player.”

Messi has made his impact in the USA so far, as he has three goals and an assist in just two games. The Argentine, along with Sergio Busquets, have seemingly transformed the Miami side which is last in the MLS, as they brushed aside Atlanta United who are seventh in the MLS, seven places above the Bekham-owned side. With the further addition of Jordi Alba, the team will only improve.
